Procedures - Step by Step
Have you ever wondered how these procedures are done?

I love surgery and I love teaching. I've been making step by step videos to teach other surgeons and these are some of my cases. Hope you enjoy.
TMJ
Arthrocentesis
Arthrocentesis is minimally invasive and often our first line of treatment. It involves lavaging (irrigating) the joint to clear it of inflammatory mediators which can arrest degenerative arthritic changes and reduce pain. You can also release adhesions which will improve mobility and range of motion.
Disc Repositioning
Frequently the TMJ's articular disc is anteriorly displaced and this malposition can cause pain as well as restricted motion. This procedure repositing the disc and fixates it with a bone anchor and sutures, allowing the disc to freely translate with the mandible during motion.
Total Joint Replacement
For end stage disease, a total joint replacement is often indicated. This can be done with autogenous bone (usually for children) or alloplastics with a custom or stock joint. Here's a case of a custom joint -->
